Stephan (TZvetan) Asparough Trendov was born on April 5, 1949, in the city of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. The son of an industrialist, metallurgical engineer, inventor and political dissident. At the age of six, he and his family escaped from Bulgaria, traveled through Europe and ultimately came to the United States, settling in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After high school, he received a 5-year hockey scholarship at Alaska Methodist University in Anchorage, Alaska, where he studied art. He then focused on urban master planning and futuristic architecture while attending the University of Minnesota School of Architecture. He was mentored there by Dean Ralph Rapson, a prominently known American Architect. Recognizing his ability to Illustrate, his professors recommended him to large American architectural firms. This was the start of illustrating with the leading forces in Architecture, city planning, and developers, helping to shape America’s new cities. In the process, he has become a master delineator of urban spaces, real and visionary.
In 1990 he was invited to exhibit his work in the city of Gabrovo, Bulgaria and was commissioned to design a master plan for the city. For the next 50 years along with illustrating he further developed his skill as a conceptualist. He received commissions to conceptualize several cities in America, he then embarked on a global exposure with projects in Libya, a city outside of Dubai and currently a new city for the Sultan of Oman.
In 1989 overwhelmed by architecture, he began to write on the side to date he has accumulated a large writing folio. Currently completed his first Historical Fiction Novel 'Inside The Red Gates' to be published in 2020.
Recognized for his unique abilities to conceptualize, several corporations began requesting his services and commissioned him to work with them in identifying new products and services. He began teaching their workforce, the art of conceptualizing. Currently, Mr. Trendov resides and works In Ann Arbor, Michigan.

“Together with our clients, we have explored many visions. The ideas & concepts are then laid out in the old fashioned way; laboriously illustrated in freehand with pen and ink, and then colored. This utilizes a process artists and innovators have used for centuries. I approach each project the same way, with strong intensity and passion for the love of my field and try not to overlook small details.”
