Somewhat reluctantly retired, but still intensely curious about the world, its people and nature/wildlife. I have travelled a fair amount in my work through the years, and still love to see other parts of the world, and the people who live there.
I'm not given to deep analysis of either my own shots or those of others, and I feel that a appealing image is worthwhile for just that reason - it stopped you in your tracks, it registered on your consciousness - the synapses are buzzing ... mission accomplished.
For me, the best images celebrate the works of Nature, as in Ansel Adams' work, or give an insight into the human condition, and that may be may in the work of say Don McCullin, Steve McCurry or the many great images here on Flickr.

I see plenty in the world to lift the heart, but there's also plenty to break it too....

P.S. I wish that the fad for ugly, garish and oversized comment/invite graphics would pass .... ;-) and if there's reason to believe that the sole motive for a comment is self-promotion, then don't be too surprised if your comment gets deleted ...
