I hold a postgrad in mathematics, though in the process I have forgotten why I wanted it in the first place.

I am passionate about people, stories, life, Himalayas, villages, people, forests, rivers, wildlife, pets, travel, trekking and exploring unique cultures. My fascination towards the play of lights and shadows pulls me to photography. Born in a close-knit mountainous community in the Kumaon region of the Himalayas, I have been brought up in an environment that appreciated the beautiful, the strong, and the hard-working. I have trekked almost all of Uttarakhand(yeah! really), explored cultures on my way that have left imprints too indelible, met people with stories worthy a Nobel in literature, and seen happiness in misery stemming out of nonchalance to life’s harshness. It is such stories I want to paint through my lens. I am hungry for professional insights on photography. My other interests are Royal Enfield motorcycles, bicycles, backpacking, camping, talking, cooking, reading - fiction, non fiction, history, philosophy, psychology etc and music.
