I have to confess that the first time that I bumped into Samantha's photo stream what called my attention was her beauty since in that time she used to make a lot of self portraits. II found these images captivating both from a technical point of view as from a aesthetic point of view. However, little by little I have discovered the true Samantha. The woman that has a huge heart devoted to help a lot of people in need. To this respect, she is an example for all of us. Her black and white photography is outstanding, specially her portraits. someone found something evil in Sam's pictures. "Parce que", the name of one picture, shocked people, they saw some kind of devil in the person being photographed. That person was Sam. I immediately felt there was something wrong in their vision. It was a scary picture indeed, blood came out of her mouth like she was a vampire, but more important: the viewers were drawn into the mystery of this image. This photo hit us like a very weird hammer. Sam makes very dramatic pictures, she's a photographer and a model creating amazing portraits. The model is breathtaking, beautiful or scary. Depends on the idea behind the picture. But the more you look at her pictures, the more you get convinced Sam is a great artist, a beautiful woman, and most important : a wonderful person. Her work with kids living in the dirt is amazing, she deserves the greatest respect possible. Thank you Sam, for sharing your art and personality with us.

Speaking of gifts, I consider it a gift when life presents that moment when you meet good people like you, Sam. It’s hard to believe that 7 years have gone by since we first met yet it’s not hard to believe how much you have achieved since then. Your work ethic in the classroom and behind the camera is exemplary. Your kindness and dedication to your family, friends, students and your cause is notable. Before I mention her work, I'd like to express how wonderful Miss Samantha is as a person. I've never seen anyone so hardworking and dedicated to her causes as Sam, and I honestly think she is a much stronger person than she gives herself credit for. Clear evidence of this can be seen in her heartbreaking captures of everyday life in Nicaragua. Sam's also a beautiful and intelligent lady whose comments always help me improve, and make me smile. She always goes out of her way to help me with technical difficulties with my images, and for that I am very grateful :) She also a very talented photographer, and I love her diversity in styles, from delicate self portraits, and fabulously textured illustrative images to the often stark and touching photojournalism of her charity work.
