Rail enthusiast and worker based in the south of England.
My interest covers a wide range of railways including the UK, Europe and the world.
While I have always had an interest in railways my first outing to photograph them was in 2002 with what was probably then a cutting-edge poor quality digital camera of around 3 megapixels.
After this first trip I had really caught the 'bug' and I spent the next years traveling on and photographing the last of the Southern Region slam-door EMU's with varying levels of success.
With the demise of my beloved 'slammers' my travels started to take me further afield in the UK, and I started to think about photography a little more seriously.
In 2012 I took my first trip to Europe purely in search of railways and never looked back. I now have railway photographs from over 30 countries.
I maintain a blog at www.trains-today.blogspot.com which contains many more images, stories and reports from my foreign trips.
I try to post a small selection of my photographs here showing the variety of my interests and what I am able to capture.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about my pictures or travels, or if you are interested in using any of my photographs.
