I'm a photographer, writer, and lawyer. My favorite subject are trains, ships, people, airplanes, nature and landscapes. I'm originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in the USA, but worked for many years in other nations on international development projects, largely as a contractor for USAID. I now live with my wife, Terry, in Depoe Bay, Oregon, and work as a public defender in Lincoln County, Oregon, in the county seat of Newport.

I love seeing military aircraft (especially USA and WWII era). But I'm not so much of a 'buff' that I can easily identify them. Ivan certainly fills-in the blank spaces, because he adds the fantastic information to each display. His models set matches or exceeds any of my aircraft books. This of course also applies to his trains photos -- I can only imagine the justice he (will I'm sure) can do to the rolling stock of the United States! I greatly enjoy ships, my next discovery to be found in there....

Ivan manages to capture split second events, such as a fish rising up to the surface of the water gasping for breath (my personal favorite). I like the way he captures natural beauty on his travels. I particularly enjoyed his photos of Istanbul and Turkmenistan.
