Photography is not only my most favorite hobby, it's my "backup memory". Can I remember places and events that I have been a part of in the past, sure. But to be able to look at a photograph from those events and places.....that immediately puts me right back in the shoes I was wearing on the day I took the photo. Each capture is like a little slice of time to the point where.....who needs a DeLorean time machine?!? I truly love getting out and about, seeing new things, and capturing those moments.....not only for myself, but for everyone else to enjoy.

My main workhorse is my Nikon D7200 and my trusty Nikon D90. I've built up a collection of lenses and I increasingly try to push myself by experimenting with new, previously un-thought of ideas and angles. Many times this works out, sometimes it doesn't. There's a lot of trial and error in constantly trying to hone one's craft. I also love shooting in film, and primarily with classic film cameras that utilize 120 spool film. I've found several old classic cameras in places like antique shops and eBay, and I've even been given several really cool cameras by family and friends who know I'll use their old unwanted cameras. With more basic classic cameras such as box cameras or super-simple TLR's, I like to take them apart, clean them, refurbish them, and get them into working order. Then of course, I want to shoot film through them! I ultimately dream of setting up a small darkroom where I can at least develop film. I may not get into the world of making prints in a darkroom, but the developing is definitely a fun art.

I hope you enjoy my collection of photos. You'll find some common themes........with the biggest involving trains. Trans have been a passion of mine since I was a kid. I also love landscape photography, covered bridges, WWII aviation and many more somewhat typical "dude" interests. It's with some sadness that I am not really into wedding or event photography of people, as I know there can be some money in those photography arenas. I just figure I will stick with what I love to capture most, and see where things take me.

Cheers -- Jesse
