I hail from the flatlands of England, a place where rabbits stare lovingly at headlights and horny drakes spend their days voyaging around the riverbanks.
In June 2007, I realised a dream and stepped aboard an aeroplane. That wasn't the dream. Aeroplanes have never really excited me; however it signified the beginning of a period of fantastic travel which would carry me through Russia, Mongolia, China, Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Singapore, and Indonesia, before setting me up for a year in Australia.
Right now I'm nestled in the land of Tui and tuatara, silver ferns and rugged coastlines. I'm in Aotearoa (New Zealand). A land of relentless wind, and possibly the most grating accent on the planet. A land where the indigenous people, the majestic Maori have stood firm and held their culture tight. A land where the settlers, (the pakeha) have grown tall and lean like blades of fading grass.
I'm an outsider, amongst outsiders. As always, I'm staying relatively quiet and absorbing the curious world around me. I welcome feedback, and interaction and you can find me at various e-joints within the web, but best off nailing me down on Twitter. Here's my card:
