I am an ex Naval Combat Officer, now owning a photographic retail business. I also present photographic workshops, seminars and audio-visual shows.

Freeman Patterson had a huge influence on my early growth as a photographer, awakening in me the yearning to understand how humans perceive and react to visual stimuli. My belief that photography can be a very powerful and emotive medium of expression stems from this influence.

My photographic workshops are aimed to replace "formulas" and "rules of composition" with an understanding of the language of visual design and visual expression. This allows you to express the unique interaction between an individual photographer and subject without limitations.

I stay in Stellenbosch, South Africa, but live in the desert. Any desert.

I believe that photography is the most fun anyone can legally have.
