I have 'dipped'into Mike Ramptons photos in a random way for several years. At first it was his humour, some great digital jokes, but then his observation of people in Manchester fascinated me. Now I believe he is at an even higher level with some of the most significant shots recording life in 2017 that will remain as historical value.

There is no one on flickr, quite like tootdood. His photos are inspirational, witty and fun -- never leaving you wanting more and always excited to see what he will come up with next. I speak not only of his 365, but his street portraits and mastered hip shot technique. He is also a wonderful dood when not behind the camera. He's always replied to emails, questions, etc, and I can't wait to travel to england sooner or later and grab a drink with him!

Toot is one of the reasons I am on flickr. His stream inspires me and leaves me awestruck on a daily basis. He is brilliant and talented as a photographer no matter the subject or the circumstances. His outlook on life gives me hope and his words of encouragement give me confidence. He has a way of capturing the emotion and essence of people in his street photography and emphasizing both with his conversions and post processing treatments. He is a master of photoshop and is using it to its full potential in his 365 series year one and two. And to top it off he is an entertainer and never fails to bring a smile to everyone's face and fill their lives with joy. As a person he is warm and inviting and a true delight. His friendship means the world to me.

Mike has a very creative mind that he uses to much delight of his fans. Yes, I think that is an accurate statement. The draw to his photostream is legion demonstrated by the number of comments that are left behind. I like Mike for the way he is able to make me laugh: either by cloning himself and creating amusing situations or shredding himself or turning himself into an alien. These are just a few of what I have seen and I am better for it. I must add that he possesses a keen eye for beauty; for line and shape, and for packing emotional punch into his images. I visit Toot’s stream whenever I can and invariably find myself smiling, admiring, or just wondering how on earth he does it. Toot’s pictures of Manchester capture the city and its people in a mesmerising stream of creativity. He has the ability to create an arresting image from the humblest of surroundings, find a unique perspective on a familiar scene or capture that perfect moment in the lives of ordinary Mancunians around him. Toot is amazingly prolific while maintaining an astonishing level of quality. And as if that’s not enough, he is one of the most generous commentators I’ve ever come across on Flickr and is always punctilious in thanking others for their comments on his own pictures. Toot is a fabulous photographer, a powerful inspiration and a great Flickr citizen.

His shots are consistently getting better time after time. A great inspiration to anyone who loves photography, be they young or old!
