I make a living writing corporate announcements and producing newsletters for Hewlett Packard. One of those newsletters was quite good, in that it had bugger all to do with work and allowed me to produce a bunch of illustrations. It's also been a springboard for me to get some work contributing to magazines.
I'm a good cartoonist and have produced a fair amount of work in Acrylic, pastel and papier mache. Oils and Gouache are something I'm keen to have a go on at some stage.... Of late, I've been churning out digital artwork hand over fist. Initially this was done on 'Sketch n Draw' (on my mobile), before I moved on to Sketchbook on my £40 HP Touchpad. Now I mainly use Photoshop Elements 9.
I'm a massive fan of what you might call "low" art, e.g. Box art for Airfix, classic toy boxes (robots and such), those painted one sheet film posters you don't see any more and men's adventure magazines of the 50's and 60's. My aim is to one day be as good as Norm Eastman.
If you like this stuff, then why not also "like" my Facebook page? It's about 3% as popular as 'Jim'll paint it".
