I take photos for the love of being able to participate in something creative, no matter how bad they are the choice to use a creative part of myself helps me become more at peace.
I still learn a lot everytime I got out taking photos, or look around at others work and spend a great deal of time hidden in darkrooms messing up processing films and enlargements.
My initial interest in photography was pictoral, and technical, landscape photography. I still enjoy this but I am now looking for more and to challenge why I take photographs and I am developing a fascinationg with photopgrahy as documentary and social observation or commentry, especially where it retains and astheic or pictoral element.
General artistic inspirations: My Brother and my Dad, Rolf Horn, and particularly Michael Kenna, Ragnar Axelsson, Fan Ho and Ari Sigvaldason, Eddie Ephraums. Steichen, Stieglitz, Andrew Buurman, Simon Norfolk are among many other influences. Paul Russell is a genius -
Other than photography people like Ghery, Baudrillard, William Gibson, Antony Gormley, Guy Debord.
