Architectural photographer also undertaking written and research assignments and developing artwork and printmaking. My work broadly deals with the built environment, and the way it shapes our environment. Focusing on Architectural / Environmental / Urban & cultural subjects where my working knowledge and background in architecture practice informs my photography.
Back in 2008 I entered Glasgow Institute of Architects photography competition and won the Social Landscape category, which encouraged me to take on commissions and set up as an architectural photographer.
The everyday normaility of city life and social landscape, is rich in fascination and my images often try to capture places within a city or landscape, distilling the essence of a location into a 2d composition.
There is a story to every image, and a certain truth or atmosphere which is what photography is about to me, using composition light and colour to communicate.
Breathe it in and let it out - looking around is good.
Capture a moment that lasts forever,
Happy accidents and magic moments.
The images presented here are a mixture of commissioned and personal work.
Artwork and prints are available - or by contacting me directly. Images can be commissioned & customised to suit specific requirements.
