I am a Java EE programmer, an amateur french horn player, we own a little sailing boat, at times I worked on 3Dmodeling in blender (my buddy icon is my french horn rebuild in blender), and with some luck I won't forget to take photo's. At intervals I am busy with typesetting music in Lilipond. I am the lucky owner of a PPL with with about 260 PIC hrs. I am married and we are owned by two cats, Shosta and Kova. So, you can say I am not easily bored stiff.
Photography is clearly one of my lesser skills. Especially composition wise But I like photo's and the equipment even more.
The photo's of the cats were taken when I thought they were behaving in a way that can result in hilarious photos. I use the available light so some reddish hue is to be expected since the house is lit by halogen lamps. I am not aiming at a certain photo or situation, it just happens with these cats.
I don't adjust my photo's in photo-shop or whatever. For the simple reason that I don't trust the monitor when a little change in view angle changes the contrast or saturation or whatever considerably. So I have to trust the camera.
But, I have planned for a monitor calibration tool, and from halfway March am using Ligthroom now with a Colorchecker Passport. It is a revelation....
I like the old Dutch sailing ships. So I have a slowly growing number of photos of those ships in my collection.
Some of my renders of my abandoned blender frigate project are found here on flickr.
The latest and final development concerning my online name is Captain Hornblower, I am using it now for all my accounts that are not related to work and other serious matter to avoid confusion. I choose that one because I play french horn, I sail and I fly. And Horatio Hornblower was my favourite character in my younger years.
Grrr Drashar escaped from a story. (How did he get involded here?)
So now you know still nothing about me..
