I like photography. Is there more that needs to said? Probably. I am not a formerly trained photographer nor have I had any formal education in any of the classical artistic disciplines. I simply capture images that interest me. That may be a still-life. It may be a portrait. It may be something that looks like total chaos. I love the play of light and shadow and subjects that move into the abstract.

I don't believe in a "right or wrong" approach to most things. So you guessed it, I'm an "out of the box" sort of guy. It's how I attack most things I do. Don't get me wrong, there's something to be said about learning technique and building on the experience of others which I totally do. But I also like to push the status quo. To me there are very few "bad" photographs (but there may be a lot of boring ones). I know classically trained photographers may balk at that comment, but it's better to treat each picture on it's own merits. Granted, you may not agree with it...and the beauty of art is that YOU DON'T HAVE TO! It's all about how the picture makes YOU feel.

A word of warning...I am not always capturing an image to preserve its original presentation. I may modify aspects of the image to satisfy something I imagined when I saw the original subject. In cases where I've significantly modified the original presentation (drastic color, stylization changes, or content alteration) I will generally include a tag or statement in the description indicating that.

So I make no apologies for my work. Everyday is a new day to push my boundaries. I'm always learning, always observing other's work to discover something I haven't yet tried. It's a world only limited by your imagination.
