Toby Hibbitts....Toby Hibbitts...what can I say about Toby Hibbitts that hasn't already been said by every world class herpetologist and photographer? The man is a genius, pure and simple. His rugged good looks and confident character seem more appropriate for a rugby player, or some adventurer poised to scale Everest, yet at heart is is a herpetologist, ecologist, and photographer in the purest sense of those words. His contributions to the field of herpetology can not be measured by any means known to man, and the way he revolutionized herp photography will be written about in future books for centuries to come. I've spent many nights awake, thinking about what to say to Toby about all of his accomplishments, and the way he has influenced me. He has set a standard for me to try to live up to (though I will no doubt fall far, far short), both with his scientific integrity, photographic perfection, personal hygiene, and the way he lives his life every day. No words that came into my mind seemed enough. So at the end of the day, I just want to say. Thank you. Thank you Toby. For everything.
