Would like to wish everyone a great Xmas and appologize for not being around too much :)

I have created a flash site that you might all enjoy with both shots and music that I have created for everyone - you can reach it here. www.ambientplaces.se

My attributes are that of an emotional sponge :)

as I seem to get worked up over very little these days,

both a weekness and a strengh for many talented here, yet

for me put down to age!

We all strive to reflect our emotions in our work and will work for me as many; an outlet I need to servive. Sounds dramatic, yet thats what I hold onto.

I´ve always "had" to use a camera through my work as a designer for some 35 years now.

Yet the media is quiet different when on demand.

I turned to the camera as a private emotional outlet and a change of paletté; after many years of painting I needed somthing else.

I have always had the photograph as a critical part of what I´ve worked with, from retouching prints way back to teaching PhotoShop for designers and now use it every day in my work. Yet as a private medium it´s different when not on demand ;)

The spontaneity of the medium has captivated me in a way I would not have dreamed for just a few years ago, mainly thanks to the development in the digital feild. There is nothing one can´t do with an image and this has only made a mockery of that wonderful old saying; "seeing is believing" I am overwhelmed by the talent I have seen here and even more so by the number of sympathetic soles that seem to have chosen a similar path and interest as me.

That makes for a very warm feeling, as I now get to know some of you and are made to feel that privilege of being appart of this great site.

I´m english and living in sweden with two sons, who keep me warm inside.

Use a Canon EOS 400D and a Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 lens mostly.

I have seen new ideas being born daily here, I have seen a quality of work that re-defines the rules that question whats good or not. Yet most of all, I feel that warmth inside because I´m part of it all and talking to you ;^)

A word about contacts...

I seem to have alote of contacts now and although that is wonderful, I am still feeling bad about not getting around to commenting properly on all your amazing projects.

Yet if your a contact of mine it´s because I love everything your doing and would rather comment on one or two properly than all with just a "Great job".

Some like to have hundreds of contacts in order to have there work seen more, my contact list is only for peaple I respect very highly and want to follow with time ;^)

Steve, You are a very open-minded person with a great attitude and vast imagination working on the top gear :D What's most important to me is that You put Your heart into Your work and that becomes obvious when looking into Your portfolio. Kind regards and keep up the good work!!

There is a small set of people in my contacts list who I pay particular attention to. They are the painters and graphic designers and I look forward to their images because they are such masters of composition. Every time Steve puts up a picture I look at it and ask myself, how did he see that! Well I went ahead and asked him that question once and he has been generous enough to drop in once in a while to critique my stuff, and that makes him a star in my book. But there's so much more I have to learn from his work and I'm sure that will still be the case ten years from now. So, I'm looking forward to the next decade :-) Enjoy!

MajorBrighton (Stephen) is a great flickr person. He is a media professional. Yet in his spare time he works in the media of oil and digital photography. This personal work is stunning, creative and tending to the abstract. If he makes a comment about how to change one of your pictures your picture can move from the good to the utterly compelling. My favourite example of this is www.flickr.com/ph... where Stephen's eye yields this picture www.flickr.com/ph...
