I've always been interested in nature as long as I can remember, catching snakes and many other small critters when I was young. In 1989 I started birding, traveling all over the ABA area in the following years. Then in 2007 I began exploring the tropics in Trinidad & Tobago, Mexico, Honduras, Costa Rica, Ecuador and Guyana. Photographing nature started in 2001 with my first digital camera, the Sony Mavica CD 1000. Since then I've gone through several Canon cameras and lenses. Besides birds, mammals and herps, insects have been a passion for over 20 years now, and I have written a book, Insects of New England and New York.
