Photography acquires a little of the dignity it lacks, when it ceases to be a reproduction of reality and shows us things that no longer exist. Marcel Proust
Artistic Photography: The essence of an object as seen by the soul of an artist.
"How long a photograph holds the eye is the best measure of its artistic value".
Krystina Stimakovits: "I am, as you will have noticed very interested in abstraction, but always want to see it strongly anchored in the 'real'. I kind of like this 'in-between' world. "
Thoreau: "You can't say more than you can see".
Timothy O'Sullivan: His landscapes are as precisely and as economically composed as a good masonry wall.
Buddha: "If you lose expectation, you have everything".
Strive to turn the mundane into the sublime.

A profound gallery that echoes the passing of time and conveys thoroughly, a sermon to us all. Those who seek peace, might find some here.
Geez Thomas, how is it I have not looked at this gallery since forever...? You are truly a gifted artist and I have thoroughly enjoyed looking at every page. Don't ask me a favorite as it is the collection itself, and juxtapositioning, that outshines any individual part...well, not entirely true but I did want to say t… Read more

» « Thomas McCauley has real photographic talent. And this talent, marked by continuous searching, is an expression of the youth of his heart and his spirit. Thomas McCauley is not bogged down in habits, because he constantly offers a variety of photographic approaches through masterful compositions. The brilliant nature of his work (the water and the trees, symbols of horizontal and vertical) are ever present. The play of shadows and light give to us a subtle clarity. The diverse constructions and the geometric forms of every photo reveal a spirit inhabited by architecture (the factories, the bridges, the modern structures are the contours and lines which run through his graphic compositions). The dusk and the night express equally his internal dreams. He also likes to photography children : this is a sign of his recollections of his own youth. Thomas McCauley is a photographer of diversity, of geometry and of sensitivity : his sensitive consideration of humanity and his powers of observation of the world around him allow us to believe in a truly subtle art. »
