Tlate hiin has an extraordinary capacity to see the beauty in moments that would move past other people unnoticed. Seeing this in tlate hiin’s photographs inspires me to expand my own vision. Tlate hiin has a remarkable eye for subtle color and a wonderful ability to convey delicacy, especially of shadows and plant life (or maybe I notice it most there because those are some of my favorite subjects).

she who choses the eskimo name tlate hiin which means "twinkle upon the water" and which is a wonderful image for images that transcend words has an attentive eye for such special images. and while images transcend words, which they may well do, tlate hiin not only grasps the nature of these images in an intuitive way, she in fact is also able to find words for those very images to point out their ineffability and to find words for images that transcend words is a great art, especially when these are words that are attentive, friendly, not superficial and always exactly right. in short: tlate hiin is one of the persons that always knows the right words, and this ability finds its genuine reflection in her photography, which can furthermore be described as experimental, open, precise and most important: human.
