Tim Smalley is a professional photographer based in Hertfordshire. He has had a long passion for photography and the arts, which started at school.

I learned the value of being curious about my surroundings while I was at school, where one of my Art GCSE modules was focused around Black & White photography. Curiously, my chosen subject matter was ancient and fallen trees, which won the academic award for art at school. In addition to that, I grew up on the edge of the Peak District National Park, which gave me great appreciation for nature and the British countryside.

I have worked professionally as a press photographer, product photographer, wedding photographer and more recently as a property photographer. My passion for nature is demonstrated through his woodland and tree photography, though - and I now do commissions for a number of conservation charities in the UK.

Im currently based in Hertfordshire, on the doorstep of the Chiltern Hills and some of the UK's most diverse ancient woodland.
