Slieve Gullion Lodge is situated at the foot of the beautiful Slieve Gullion Mountain in Mullaghbane, rural South Armagh.

 

The Lodge is part of the Tí Chulainn Cultural & Events centre, and it is managed by a local community 'not for profit' group.

 

This tranquil setting is easily accessible from main roads, yet provides the visitor with access to an area officially marked as 'An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'. All the attractions of South Armagh and North Louth are right on our doorstep.

 

Slieve Gullion Lodge offers Hotel Style accommodation at Hostel prices. All rooms are en-suite and on the ground floor, and there is a communal reading and TV room for your enjoyment. All linen and towels are included.

 

Our room layout means we can cater for couples, families and groups - and provide everything you need to enjoy the locality.

 

Guests can choose the self catering option or let us know and we can provide all meals and packed lunches, and we can tailor these to your dietary needs. There is a cosy bar on site, which can be made available to groups as needed, and local country pubs, shops, and take aways are a short stroll away.

 

Local attractions include hiking, cycling, angling, horse riding, golf, spa's, karting, greyhound and horse racing - along with spectacular scenery. The area is steeped in Irish mythical, historical, political, and cultural history and a number of tours available on request.

By Car:

The Lodge is less than 1 hour's drive from Dublin Airport, 70 mins from Belfast City Airport or 90 mins from Belfast International Airport.

 

From Belfast:

Follow the signs to Newry via the M1 then A1. On entering Newry follow signs to Camlough and the A25. Drive through Camlough and then turn left at B30/Newtown Rd. Take the 2nd left onto B30/Sturgan Brae Rd. then Continue to follow B30 then Turn left at B134/Longfield Rd and after 2.2 miles /3.5km take a right onto the Bog Road - The Slieve Gullion Lodge and Tí Chulainn Centre are at the end of this Road.

 

From Dublin:

Take the M1 going north to Dundalk, follow the M1 for 70 miles/90km and exit following the signs for Jonesborough and the Carrickdale Hotel exit. On exiting the motorway take a left up Church Hill into Jonesborough, follow the road through Jonesborough (Finnegans Road) and turn left at the Three Steps Bar onto the Newry Road/B113. Follow this road to a T Junction in Forkhill and take a right onto the Longfield Road/B134 and follow this road for 2.4m/3.8km then take a left at the Bog Rd. and The Slieve Gullion Lodge and Tí Chulainn Centre are at the end of this road.

 

By Rail:

The nearest train stations are Newry (7 miles/11km) and Dundalk (10miles/17km)

 

A free shuttle bus connects Newry train station to the city's bus terminal

 

Transfers or Taxi's from these train stations can be arranged.

 

By Bus:

Regular buses run from Newry Bus depot to Mullaghbane (Mullaghbawn , An Mullach Bán)
