My fascination for photographs began when I was in highschool. I was part of the school paper then and they were looking for a new photojournalist. So I volunteered, learned the basics of using a film camera, and fell in love with documentary and street photography.
This interest continued till college where I was also a photojournalist for the paper (till I became one of the editors and had to focus on managing the staff). Anthropology, my undergrad, also had an impact on the way I took photos, taking on an ethnographic quality, which I didn't really notice till one of my college professors pointed it out.
The interest in photography took a set back when I moved to Manila and started working in the call center industry. The schedule was crazy and it changed almost every 2 months. Things changed after I got a job with more flexible hours and fixed rest days. I began to travel more often instead of just the annual birthday trip. Traveling rekindled the interest in photography, because what better way is there to document your travels than photos?
Nowadays, I still travel when I can and the beach is still my happy place. I'm into portraits now too and have begun accepting paid assignments. :)
