UPDATE 12/09/18:

I still struggle to get my photo mojo back as is evidenced by my rare appearance and commenting lately... Now that Flickr has decided to go full profit, I find myself deleting and wondering whether or not I will return...

 

UPDATE 03/22/17:

My father has recently passed on from this world to the next... He has happily rejoined my mother and for that we are all pleased... his passing, however, has left me and my sisters with quite a few tasks that consume all of my time... perhaps I shall return in time as things quiet down...

 

UPDATE 11/16/16:

I think I've sorted most of the rough edges out now and I am slowly getting back to a slower but steady pace...

 

UPDATE 10/18/16:

I have recently had a minor compromise of my online presence and as a result, I will be making minor adjustments to this account... I am going to become an even simpler, family friendly Bob... my contact list will change and my comments will change... there is still an earthier side to me that will take over responsibility for maintaining balance between the dark and the light.... when the smoke clears, he will make an appearance........... just not on Simply_Bob...

 

you may see some of SB's comments disappear or get massaged in some cases... I apologize in advance if you are disappointed... sometimes you just gotta CYA...

 

UPDATE 11/12/15:

I've been really busy with a backlog of personal obligations and work, so my photo submissions have been pathetically marginal... I have tried to stay current with my comments, but some days are better than others...

Can't we all just get along? I think it's time to put all politicians and panderers in a suitcase and ship them out...

 

UPDATE 12/08/2014:

A Flickr friend of mine has decided to take a sabbatical from posting in order to find a cohesive theme for her art... it caused me to reflect on my own collection which is admittedly "stream of consciousness" imagery. It has made me realize that my site is more of a visual blog of what's in my head at any given moment... and I'm good with that...

 

UPDATE 09/30/2013:

I seem to have lost my mojo temporarily... For the last several months I have traveled extensively for work... we were under a lot of pressure and all my creativity was drained away leaving me with an empty spot where enthusiasm once lived... perhaps one day it will show up at my back door begging for little scraps of food...

 

UPDATE 10/05/2012:

Just want to add a caveat about my photos... I Photoshop the Hell out of my stuff and I'm not the least bit ashamed of that fact... I am a processor more than a photographer... not that anyone cares, but there might be that one guy...

 

Previous Stuff:

ancient white male stumbling through life; tiptoeing on the line between perversion and decency... too lazy to choose one over the other.

 

I've crossed the line from being a player to being a spectator, and I think I'll live longer for it...

 

I've made it this far with two sets of broken ribs, a partially re-built knee with someone else's stuff, a 4" long titanium plate in my neck, one hernia and uncountable broken/twisted toes and fingers...

 

I've had my share of temporary STD's and embarrassing moments and now it's time for me to pass on the torch to a newer generation of the 'doomed'...

 

I'm well travelled,

well read,

well fed,

well partied,

and now it's time to be:

well rested.

 

Unless you like the more common tidbits of daily life, you'll be bored here and best move on... otherwise: welcome. Pour yourself a drink, sit down and tell me about that last gall bladder operation you had.

 

By the way... there is no cohesive pattern to what I shoot, so don't look for a theme... I'm a very "stream of consciousness" type of guy...
