Linda Gordon: art, nature and place

As an environmental artist, my practice explores notions of 'place' and our identity as an integral part of a living planet. It is based mainly on site-responsive installation using natural materials found locally - though it can also involve other material and media, especially photography.

I enjoy solitary wandering in the landscape, absorbing the atmosphere around whatever place I might call 'home'. This enables me to make a fully-felt, precise response to my immediate environment - whether it is a large-scale sculptural piece, a small short-lived work, an on-site performance, a piece of writing or a single photograph.
