Thresh is a performing arts company founded in 2004 by Preeti Vasudevan, a leading exponent of the ancient Indian performance art known as Bharatanatyam. Thresh builds on Vasudevan’s deep knowledge of classical form to create a contemporary dance-theatre language whose aim is to encourage provocative dialogue between traditional Indian and contemporary performance forms.

Frequently looking to classical Sanskrit and Urdu texts for inspiration, Vasudevan’s work reflects the varied conversations of a globalised, modern society, while showing a deep – and sometimes playful – respect for the traditional movement forms of the choreographer's Indian heritage.
