Sometime around 2000 or 2001, I rediscovered photography, I'd taken a few pics as a kid with my kodak instamatic, and up till this rediscovery had pretty much mostly taken snapshots with my canon sureshot (and a very small number on a Konica AutoReflex T).

One day I decided to go for a walk and took my camera (canon sureshot) with me, I actually thought a bit about what I was taking pictures of and when I got the film developed felt I had taken some good pics :) I showed some friends and they said they liked them which inspired me, so I borrowed my Girlfriends SLR and took a couple of films... I decided I needed my own camera so I bought my own SLR (Nikon F80) and then a canon A70 digital... the photos you see here are some of the results :)

Around 2007 I got a Nikon D80 which served me well till Jan 2016 when I got a Nikon D750.

I've noticed that many of my earlier photos, are only displaying at 640 X480 in pretty poor quality. It seems to be because they were originally uploaded at 1024 X768 resolution. I'm slowly working my way through them and replacing with 1200 X 900 versions which seem to fix the issue.

Monitor calibration is a good thing :) I was having trouble with stuff printing too dark... found THIS website and though I haven't tested the printer yet, photos look much better! some of my photos are perhaps a bit dark, and my view that my A70 overexposes might change ;)

Oh and I'm red/green colour blind, so if something looks a bit off, it is probably a picture I have scanned off film and can't tell that it has a colour cast (or I can tell but can't fix it). To see what things look like to me you can click on this link to see my first page of images as they appear to me! Note it takes a while and displays the images as normal (I think) and slowly goes through each one one by one....

check this thread out www.flickr.com/groups/catchy/discuss/176891/ for some more info on colourblindness.

NOTE: I have retained copyright on all photos, I don't like the re-distribution part of CC, but I give consent for personal use of my images if people want to use them as a background or wallpaper :) enjoy!

Also if you would like to use one of my images for a charitible or not for profit organisation send me a flickr mail telling me about it :) note: personal use does not mean uploading my pictures to your own website or emailing them to your friends (I've allowed blogging though, please put in a credit if you use an image on your blog :) ) . If you would like others to see them please send them a link to flickr :) I guess I'm just one of the paranoid people when it comes to the Internet ;) and yes I know that once I upload them then anyone can do whatever with them, I'm just asking people to respsect my wishes :)
