Alton Tang is an art photographer and classical musician whose images have appeared in a number of exhibits and publications. He is a Getty Images contributor. His work has been featured in the Taipei Mayor’s Art Salon and Taiwan’s National Palace Museum. A special series, Taiwan Photowalk, consists of 400 images prepared over two years. The series, directed by A T Beaune and featuring artist model Mandy Weng, is shown in coordination with live performances of Modest Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition. Taiwan Photowalk has been exhibited in Taiwan’s National Concert Hall in conjunction with performances by pianist Shao-Hsun Chang and by Apo Hsu conducting the NTNU Symphony Orchestra. The project was recently the subject of research by Gao Chunhui for Asian Photography Magazine at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore. Selected images from the series appear in A T Beaune’s News from Taiwan, an e-book available from major booksellers.

Alton has made his home in Taiwan since 2004. He holds degrees from the Florida State University, the University of Memphis, and the Peabody Conservatory of Music at Johns Hopkins. A member of Flickr’s Old School, he launched his account in January 2005.
