My name is Tom Menard a.k.a. ThomasEM or TheTallNail. I am a dad. Happily sharing my life here (in Markham, Ontario, Canada) with an absolutely wonderful lady after a perfectly dreadful first attempt at marriage. Nobody’s fault… we just grew apart rather than together. You find out the hard way that there is an extremely fine line between love and, well, bitter non-love we’ll call it.

Very happy now though! And our lives together are further blessed by our 4 kids – all now in their teens and twenties. Some were mine, some hers, but now it’s truly all just “us”. It’s not always easy, and we don’t always like each other, but we do always love each other. Gets us through the tougher times… and makes the better times just that much more fun.

I'm happiest when I'm working with wood. Building, turning, or just foolin' around. I do lots of other stuff too - and it's all part of a pretty good life - but the woodworking is where I'm most at peace.

A happy family, faithful friends, some warm sunshine once in a while, and a watchful, sheltering Angel when you need it most. What more could you ask for?
