This photo blog is my observations and notes about the renovation, transformation and preservation of existing houses.

I am an architect with a camera in my pocket. I try with photographs and words to capture the special qualities can be achieved by developing eksistrende houses instead of tearing down and building new - because I prefer my self to live and work in houses that have been used and has character.

Below a little about me and my work as an architect

For 20 years I have worked to develop, restore, maintain and expand existing houses. As project architect, project and construction manager at Gottlieb Paludan Architects in Copenhagen, Denmark, my professional goal is to create development in dialogue between knowledge, experience and heritage buildings

I am an architect with a broad interest in culture, history and society. It was natural for me to also study the history of architecture, when I was doing my regular architectural training at the art academy i Copenhagen. During my studies in Paris, where I passed eksamens in both art and architectural history, I was inspired to not distinguish between working with new and old houses.

My specialty is finding the opportunities that ”the house does not even know it had” and to develope technically rational and energy efficient solutions that provide greater value for clients and users.

I teach architectural understanding of the art design practices at Copenhagen University and is the organizer and lecturer on the course Renovations in Architectural Association in Denmark
