Neverporn (also knows as Erotic Arts Organization Neverporn) is all-female alt porn project based in cities of Saint-Petersburg and Moscow, Russia. Currently project combines number of features such as softporn photography and live performances.

History

Neverporn was founded in the fall of 2007 by models Mari Stamina and Nazzzya Khvatova as joint venture in an attempt to construct new shapes and looks in the drab world of freak porn. At very beginning it was started as local adult website only but then grown into whole community of body-modified models, photographers and worldwide army of subscribers, devoted to Neverporn’s odd and bizarre photosets. Much public attention brought the idea of live freak-shows and erotic performances soon developed into Neverporn Extravaganza Troupe: ensemble of most active and artistic models located in Saint-Petersburg. Since then N.E.T. produced few different programs and performed dozens of shows within Russia and ourdoors to gain reputation of very blood-thirsty artists.

Features

Photo project

Since the fall 07 over 100 photosets were directed, produced and publicized under sign of Neverporn. All of them are based upon image of women even if the woman isn’t freak or getting naked. Sets are very dedicated to details of clothes, interiors, atmosphere and body language. Most of sets are story-telling which can be both straight and abstract.

Live troupe

Since very beginning Neverporn Extravaganza Troupe is dedicated to extreme forms of freak shows such as suspension, fire spitting, body piercing and other multiple methods of spectacular self-torture. Early performances used to be described as pure violence some pubic wasn’t bear to watch. Later on whole approach of the show were transformed into plays with vicious stories with lesser amount of pain tricks but bigger artistic qualities and even hidden messages between the lines.

Current arsenal of N.E.T. contains 4 full programs with wide range of moods and different levels of shocking.

Specifics

The whole idea of Neverporn can be found in Mari Stamina’s citation “Everything beautiful is only seems to be disgusting”. It’s an artistic point of view that, as example, dead fish can be beautiful same as pearl if your mind is open enough to see. Naked body comes more as element of nature than bringer of pornographic content and the “atmosphere” can be a keyword to describe prime theme of Neverporn’s creations. It is “illustrations for the tales yet not been written” according to founder Nazzzya Khvatova.

Aesthetics

Neverporn’s scenarios for sets and plays gathers many different themes and points of view but most of them are based upon aesthetics or retro cultures such as post-WWI years, early Soviet history and silent movies era. Issues of sexism, domestic violence, crimes against humanity and personal insanity fused together in strong erotic and dramatic content with very vintage outlook. Faustian stories, witchcraft and holy inquisition, old fashion burlesque, post-apocalyptic signs and Lynch-esque flirt with other side of consciousness also can be found among works of Neverporn community.

Meaning of the title

There is no special meaning behind the name of Neverporn. It’s only can be offered as neologism same as whole project is trying to offer new ideas of nudity.

Awards

Neverporn Extravaganza Troupe won the Prize of Amsterdam’s Kunstvlaai Festival as Best Performers in May of 2010
