The camera obscura (Latin for veiled chamber) is an optical device used, for example, in drawing or for entertainment. It is one of the inventions leading to photography.
About Me
Let me say first that I'm just an enthusiast and my interest sprung from the days of film. That being said, I have long ways ahead of me before I can consider myself good enough. I want to learn but learning on your own can only teach you so much.
I decided to join Flickr for this very purpose... learn from others. As they say: the best form of flattery is imitation. But never stop there, one needs to take it a step further and be inspired to create one's own identity/style.
I strive to carve my own niche (even a bit of a dent will do). Simply put, I don't want to just take pictures, I aspire to the great ideals of photography: such as the ability to take a moment in time and immortalize it (in a manner of speaking). Bestow upon the picture it's own means of narrating it's story to the viewer.
Nevertheless, learning is not all there is to it, I hope to be able to contribute as well in whatever capacity and capable means I could muster.

Jay is one of the best flickr I met here. He has the eye for capturing beautiful shot. I love so much his work! I can't pass one day without seeing his photostream! As a photographer myself, Jay is one of my inspiration. :-)
I have not known Jay very long--but his images are dynamic--as well as his comments and information within his images that he provides. I know I will enjoy being a contact of Jays and I've already admired his work and personality. The world needs more people/photographers like Jay.
Even though i don't know Jay that well id just like to say i totally love your pictures there so inspiring and full of life ! I look forward to seeing more work from you ! you have a great eye for this keep it up .
Jay is a very talented photographer with a great eye for capturing incredible images, especially of his beautiful daughter! He's also one of the greatest Flickr friends I've come across, always commenting on new photos and always kind words. Thanks so much for the support Jay!
