I am not a photographer but I almost really like photography. Too technical IMAO to include Photography in the "Arts" section, even though I think great composition in an image is priceless but everything else is a product of your current equipment/software from start to finish...

Unless otherwise noted, I use Faststone on a Netbook to process images, and use JPEG's 95% of the time. I will process RAW for printing using Photoshop, but I abhor PP!!!

Update 8/3/2012: I am now using PSE 3+ to process DNG files on my Mac and still use Faststone/Corel to process JPEGs on PC's...

UPDATE 6/2013: I'm now on a new Windows 8 machine finding Faststone is once again my number one choice...

UPDATE 8/2013Have been using my old Canon PowerShot SD790 is and it's been delivering. It's biggest weakness would be Dynamic Range and it's tendency to blow out highlights. However, when one becomes more diligent, saving highlights through technique and available camera settings is quite easy. Have also discovered the ease of PP using mostly Picasa :)
