The Talisman Project is a photodocumentary on one aspect of the psychological preparations we make when faced with the uncertainty and risk involved with leaving our home country.

A modern day talisman is a physical manifestation of our desire to be protected, brave and lucky.

I began photographing travellers during a solo round the world trip (Chile, Argentina, The UK, Spain and Thailand). Now I am including migrants, refugees and returned servicemen + women. I plan to make a book from the collection of images and stories. If you have anything to add, please contact me.
