" ... one must be convinced of the infallibility of one's own fantasy and one must believe in one's own inspiration.”

- Arnold Schoenberg (1874 - 1951)

"The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.”

- Pablo Picasso (1881 - 1973)

"All art is a vision penetrating the illusions of reality, and photography is one form of this vision and revelation."

- Ansel Adams (1902 - 1984)

"Well, ... Art is Art, isn't it? Still, on the other hand, water is water. And east is east and west is west and if you take cranberries and stew them like applesauce they taste much more like prunes than rhubarb does. ... Now you tell me what you know."

- Groucho Marx (1890 - 1977)

Well, ... I'm a retiree, at my allotted three score and ten.

I live in Southeastern Wisconsin, USA (never having achieved escape velocity).

I have a home in a pleasant neighborhood ; I drive a beat-up 18 year old car ; and, to paraphrase Mel Brooks, 'I fall down on my knees each morning to thank God that my heart has not attacked me.'

I enjoy taking pictures ; going for long walks in Milwaukee's exotic East Side ; and avoiding existential despair.

I have a limited presence on social media, and am therefore destined to live out my years in blissful obscurity.

Life is good.

Anyway, thanks for looking - I hope at least a few of my images give pleasure or solace (whichever you require).

And don't forget to shut off the lights and put out the cat before you leave.

As evident from the Photostream, I am eclectic in both subject matter and processing technique. If you find this disconcerting, please visit the Albums page, where things are arranged more rationally.
