Well, in short, I like trains.
Ever since I was young I've been around railways, perhaps because it was the only way my family could get me to shut up, I don't know, but my grandparents used to take me down to Nuneaton station a hell of a lot.
Well let's be honest in the last ten years things have really changed, and the West Coast Mainline is now completely different to how I first remember it. I don't know why it sticks in my head, but one of the earliest things I can remember is an EWS Class 37 sitting in the sidings at Nuneaton (Before they decided to put the flyover in)
However, nothing sticks in my mind more than a Virgin Trains express flying past me headed by a Class 86. So yes, perhaps this is why I absolutely love the Class 86s and other AC traction.
I visit Nuneaton a lot more now and my aim is to photograph AC traction whilst it's about. I'm usually at Nuneaton on a Monday night so if you see me, don't hesitate to say hello. Monday night is the main time I spot but if there's anything unusual about I usually try to go and see it.
I also enjoy travelling both on service trains and on railtours and I hope that in future I will be able to go further afield to places in Scotland and Cornwall.
I really do hope that you enjoy my photographs.
Please don't hesitate to subscribe to my page. Send me a message and I will take a look through your photos and give you a sub back.
Thanks, Joe
