I bought my first SLR (a second-hand Minolta) around 1978, while I was still a student. It wasn’t until 2007 that I acquired my first DSLR (Nikon). Followed by more Nikon gear. Since 2019 I have added several mirrorless cameras to my gear (Panasonic, Olympus and OM Digital Solutions).

Over the years I have photographed a wide range of subjects, gradually drifting more and more towards concert photography. This shift was a natural result of my passion for and involvement in music. Concert photography became a major focus, although it has become less prominent in recent years.

Through my oldest brother, who is a painter, I also became a regular visitor to the world of visual art. I frequently photograph exhibition openings and, on occasion, individual works of art for PR purposes — such as posters, postcards or press releases.

Due to the circumstances of 2020 and 2021 I was unable to photograph my usual subjects as extensively as in previous years. To stay active I turned to local landscapes, seeking out quieter and more peaceful locations, and occasionally worked with outdoor models, gradually moving towards more formal model shoots. After 2021 I continued this mixed approach.

Since 2022 other types of events have also become part of my work, including dance performances (flamenco and ballet) and cosplay.

Since 2016 I have organised and participated in numerous photographic and mixed-arts exhibitions at venues such as Parc Imstenrade (Heerlen), Foto Gery (Heerlen), Sint Janskluis (Geleen), Statistics Netherlands (Heerlen and The Hague) and Museum Valkenburg (Valkenburg aan de Geul).
