2019 update: I only upgraded to Pro because Flickr's a trash fire now. Attention to fellow [formerly] Free accounts: If you have >1,000 photos (which really isn't that many if you consider how many years you've been here), Flickr will DELETE your oldest ones. I didn't use Flickr for storage; my albums were my way of sharing pictures (this was before Instagram and back when most of my Facebook was private), getting comments, etc. E.g., "Postcard Project // Manhattan Map" (what I originally called my NYC edition of Dreams of a City). Over 11k views for that album, which, according to Flickr's new rule, would be deleted. It's literally pay or get your pages erased. Unethical. So Flickr: If you just limited new uploads going forward, fine. But to threaten deletion of old images (including old conversations under them, plus the fact that there'd be broken links across the web from shares of them) unless users fork over the $$$ to you is ridiculous.
