A Conservative-Liberal pact responds to a financial crisis by reducing wages and increasing hours of the most poorly paid while simultaneously withdrawing benefits from those with no work. They tell people ‘we are all in this together’ – and while the wealthy continue to party – the people fight back only to be beaten by baton wielding policeman and condemned as mere criminals.
As austerity measures bite seditious talk fills the air ...a general strike – Britain 2011? No, it’s Britain 1926.
