Graduated Florida State University in 2011 with a BA in English, focus in creative writing. Head idiot at the Great Cosmic Writer. Writer of the writing kind. Read my short story “Great Northern Houses” in the independent anthology Sweet Wolverine. I also work in show production, focusing on stage, audio, and video aspects of live shows.
Following the example my mom set throughout my childhood, I've been taking photos for as long as I can remember. When I discovered Flickr in 2005—thanks to either This Week in Tech or digg linking to a blog post with the story behind this photo—I found a place I could share some of my dumb little photos. Then it became an off-and-on community for me. I went inactive for about a year (2011–12), came back in 2013, went dormant again in 2014 and 2015, and am making 2016 my comeback-comeback year. These days I like shooting in 3:2 (and 2:3), though I do shoot in 4:3, 1:1, and 16:9 as well.
I currently use these cameras: (1) Canon Rebel T5i, (2) Nikon N65, (3) iPhone 5. Very occasionally, my PowerShot S3 IS or SD870 IS gets some action, but they're retired.
If you post comments or send me email or Flickr Mail or tweet at me and I don't get back to you quickly, or ever, please understand I'm not being rude, I overanalyze everything I write to people and end up sending nothing back most of the time. Best way to get in touch is probably to tweet at me, even if I don't get back to you very quickly.
As of 22:22 EDT on 14 June 2008, all of my past photos have been re-licensed and all of my future photos will be licensed with All Rights Reserved—unless, of course, otherwise noted. THIS DOES NOT AFFECT ANY USES MADE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE CREATIVE COMMONS ATTRIBUTION-NONCOMMERCIAL-NO DERIVATIVE WORKS 2.0 GENERIC LICENSE PRIOR TO 22:22 EDT 14 JUNE 2008.
The only reason for this change was because I wanted—and still want—to keep non-contacts from downloading my photos. It made it much harder to make sure my photos were being used according to the license, because if I CC-license an upload on Flickr, anyone can download it. Sharing is, of course, still enabled, and always has been.
