I am a thirty something quilter, sewist and crafter. I live with my husband, 5 year old daughter and snuggly cat in Northern/Central California.

I love to read, sew for my daughter, machine embroidery, create felt food, and quilt. My family would also add that I like to add to my collection of pears....they affectionally say I have a lot of "PEARaphernalia"

Favorites:

*I have a really eclectic taste in fabric. I have been quilting for over 10 years and fabric choices have really changed in that amount of time. I will always love the 1930's reproductions,

but lately have been drawn to more modern fabrics.

*I enjoy blender fabrics most often in small to medium scale prints. I like geometric, florals, tone on tones, white on tone fabrics in cheerful colors. I do a lot of sewing with a rainbow theme and am usually drawn to more saturated colors.

*I really enjoy collecting and using low volume and text prints and linen as background fabrics.

*I do like modern novelty fabrics, but don't use the realistic novelties as much. I recently started collecting a few fussy cut type fabrics and am enjoying my small collection.

*Any type of pear fabric--or any fruit for that matter :) and vintage/modern kitchen prints.

*Fabrics that are inspired from Children's books

*My favorite color is green, but really I like all colors. I am not a big fan of pink/green/blue and brown, or pure white and black quilts. My stash is most lacking in purples.

*I used to make a TON of felt food for my etsy shop, but lately have been making just for friends and family. I do still enjoy sewing with wool and always have some type of wool hand project going on.

Dislikes:

*I don't use animal prints, anything neon (much to my daughters dismay) or holiday prints that read too holidayish.

*For some reason, I have a thing with Bees (the animal). I just don't like them or yellow and black together!

*I don't sew with batiks or anything that is "oriental" or metallically.

*I am not a super matchy quilter, but I don't enjoy fabrics that are over the top or are wildly contrasting or loud.

My daughter often sews with me and her favorites are:

Anything pink, purple or aqua and anything by Lizzie House or chevron. We have started making fabric paper dolls and she loves any small bits of trim, buttons or yarn scraps to add to her creations.

Other Fun Things About Me:

*I drink one cup of coffee a day, and drink way too many cups of Earl Grey tea through out the rest of the day.

*It is very kind of you to send edible goodies in the mail, but where I live is hot, and we regulary see temps over 90 degrees for 6-7 months a year and things often melt :)

* I enjoy reading, and all things that are inspired from books. I enjoy the classic children's books, Little Women, Gone with the Wind, Anne of Green Gables, Mary Poppins. Although I do like Harry Potter, Narnia, and Lord of the Rings, I have never gotten really into them.

*I love to explore California and the Tahoe region, and my family is often off traveling on the weekend.

*I always have a hand sewing project going on
