The European Wergeland Centre (EWC) is a European resource centre on education for intercultural understanding, human rights and democratic citizenship.

EWC is the result of an innovative cooperation between Norway and the Council of Europe.

The Centre is open to all the 47 member states of the CoE, and the main target groups are teachers, teacher trainers, decision makers and multipliers.

The mission of the EWC is to build bridges between policy, research and practice.
