About Me
I compose pictures from ordinary things. I love colour, shape, lines, texture, and juxtaposition.
Updates
December 2022 update: I lost my routine and mojo back in April - a lot happening in life and work. I'm back again after settling into my new job, this time back in the city, with plenty of photography subjects. My camera seems to like photographing people these days, so I'm trying some street photography.
25 August 2021 update: Hi Friends, I'm back again. I lost my routine when I was retrenched just before the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in February 2020. After 5 months, I eventually got a contract job which led to permanent employment and a more steady routine. So I've charged up my camera, paid up for 12-months of Flickr, and hope to stick around this time.
29 September 2019 update:
Hi there Flickr friends! I've settled into a steady job with good work-life balance, so I can get back into Flickr photography again. Before this I was doing contract work, which involved a LOT of hours, which left me too limp afterwards to attempt any hobbies. I've tried to get back into Flickr before, but not successfully as I couldn't integrate it into my new routine. Hopefully it will work out better this time as I intend to shoot and post from work during my lunch break.
22 October 2017 update:
To all my Flickr friends, I am going through a busy time and won't be able to spend as much time on Flickr. I'll continue posting but won't be able to visit, fav and comment. Sorry for that.
Non-Commerical Use
You can use any of my photos freely for non-commercial use if you attribute it to me. It would make my day if you also dropped me a line to tell me about it.
Commercial Use
If you want to use my photos in a commercial context, please ask and do not use without permission. I would really like to convert my photography into a little earner, so that I can quit my day job. I can accept payment through PayPal. If you can't afford my modest asking price, you can negotiate to pay me in kind, eg by giving me something from your product line.

Discovering this gallery has been a pleasure. Seeing how your eye sees special details in daily life is a delight. Congratulations Theen Moy, a spectacular gallery.
I really love your geometric compositions. Very simple, elegant, and minimal. And always wonderful colors. A lot to learn from - thank you for sharing them!
Encuadres y composiciones que convierten tus fotografÃas en obras de arte abstracto, la técnica impecable, enhorabuena.
They are all excellent pieces of work. You are an excellent creator.

Theen's photos strike me as unique and interesting because they show how various objects, patterns or backgrounds previously unrelated to each other can be brought together with a shift in focus, or from a different POV. Her resulting compositions come together seamlessly in a new way.Other than that, her work really needs to be seen for yourself. Trying to put my impressions and description into words regarding her creativity is not only difficult for me, but also falls short of what is truly achieved by her talent.

Theen takes pictures in a clever way: She knows the perfect mixture of the clarity of an abstract picture and the charms of selective fokus, shades and light. The harmony gets often underlined by the repeated patterns. Theen transfers objects of trivial urban places into pictures full of tension and perfect harmony - all in one, in one single shot! Theen plays with foreground / background in such a special style that one might think of layers like in flat design - and still, there is clearly a selective focus seen. Theen's work looks even more interesting due to the colour contrasts (like red/green) as well as the created tension between living (plant, animal) and surrounding constructions. Theen's photostream shows us all those daily banalities in direct relationship with their background ... in such an uncommon and cleaver way, that I usually do not find words to comment them :) So, I say it in one sentence for the whole photostream: Thanks for sharing your way to look at objects, Theen!

Trying not to appear to be in any way patronising, I have watched Theen's growth as a photographer and in particular her ability to make the mundane look interesting and sometimes spectacular. Her desire to take pictures from really close to the subject image has been particularly successful; this in turn has led to her having really great success in the use of Depth of Field, something that she excels in over many others. I hope I shall be watching her ever-increasing talent for many years to come.
Read lessI am in awe of Theen's abstract work. Not only are her images evocative and often very beautiful, they are technically brilliant. Her portraiture - including those of her feline friends - is inspiring, humorous and full of life. I am glad to see her visions on flickr!
