the china outpost™ is the sum of nomadic spaces created by Thai born Los Angeles based artist, Nuttaphol Ma.

I currently live and work in Los Angeles. The city provides a rich cultural vibrancy an artist can ask for. It is a place of shifting social landscapes historically driven by waves upon waves of immigrants settling in various parts of the city. As a result, the uses, the social interactions, the urban landscapes of the city re-aligns into something new. The web of these continuous changes offers a space for contemplation. I critically think about these changes.

The images here reflect upon passing moments of my interactions with people and situations as The China Outpost meanders through Los Angeles and beyond with the hopes to create makeshift social spaces for meaningful dialogues about migration and survival – the longing and not BE longing.
