I haven't been in acquaintance with Carlina for long - what I know her, is solely based on her photostream, and the fact that we both have a dog named Flossy (though mine, not so kind) To state simply, her pictures are lovely, and she instantly figured into my contact list nearly as soon I started this account, and the fact is, I can't be gladder. Any form of art is an expression, and to express requires talent, to express profoundly requires the soul your art within the grasp of your hand - Carlina, possesses hers. Her young years, inspected through her aged art, is a testament that maturity and age seldom do go with each other. Your B&W set, Carlina, is certainly my favourite.

Suffice to say, I am simply in love with Carlina's flickr stream. There are so many reasons why, but it is all simply down to the fact that she is pure in her passion. When she takes a photo, it seems like everything else fades away, what is left is only the essence of the subject, so that we get to see the true beauty of it, and enjoy the still frame for exactly what it is, without all the added superficial elements to cloud our eyes. However, her editing skills are surprisingly superb, because they enchance the emotion that is already present, and bring out details that would be missed if left alone. Carlina is still young, but to me, all the wisdom in the world plays second fiddle to her knowledge. She's mature beyond words, is somebody with so much depth and layers, that it would take days upon weeks upon years to explain how she is as a person. All I know is she touches my heart with her sincerity, and through her photographs I can find peace of mind and calm after a rough day. Carlina IS indeed my favourite contact on flickr. Keep on being who you are, Carlina. Your pictures are beautiful, every single one of them. You inspire me to get my own slr, literally. There are times where I just look to the sky, and think "I give up!". Simply put, Carlina is a superb photographer. This is made crystal clear when browsing through her photos on Flickr. She has the incredible talent to skillfully take photographs to fulfill any task. There are stunning still lifes, portraits that capture people in a very real sense, and brilliant, thought-provoking artistic pieces. When it comes to editing her photos, Carlina is diligent. From tweaking the subtle nuances of a particular photo to cleverly utilizing various effects, she is able to very effectively enhance and create a certain mood. Take a look at virtually any photo of hers and this becomes apparent. While most of Carlina’s work is digital, her photography on film (be it 35mm, Polaroid, or otherwise) is equally impressive. Her Polaroids often emulate a certain emotion or candidly pull an interesting frame from daily life. With her latest acquisition, a fisheye lens camera, she’s already taken impressive photos. Not only does she make sure that she is well versed in the operation of her equipment, Carlina is resourceful. While taking photos with her, she had to use a windowsill in a tripod’s stead. Might I be so bold as to add that those photos came out spectacular? Perhaps most important of all, Carlina has a great passion for her photography. She is always eager to learn new techniques to employ in both execution and editing. She works tirelessly which results in a final product that meets her personal standards. This ensures a consistently high quality of work that is found in each and every one of her photos.
