Bold Street.

The History, Economy, Community, Cultural History, of one Street in Liverpool: Bold Street. A radical, free-thinking street, a place for art and culture, fashion and the avant guarde.

Bold Street, in the light of regeneration elsewhere in Liverpool is getting its own blog, mobilising its community and reforming itself online.

"The Bold Street Project is a collaboration between FACT, tenantspin, and artists Michelle Wren and Katie Lips. Liverpool photographer and artist Michelle Wren is creating a visual representation of Bold Street; a model using 3D photo-montage and mixed media. Social Media artist Katie Lips is working with tenantspin and FACT to create 'community content' working with Bold Street and Liverpool residents to create and share their Bold Street Stories."

The exhibition will open 30th June 2007 in the Media Lounge at FACT, (the UK's leading organisation for the commissioning and presentation of film, video and new media art forms). It will be an immersive, eclectic and interactive representation of Bold Street through the ages and through the eyes of its community and audience.

About Bold Street

As one of the most important and historical streets in Liverpool, Bold Street has a vast and rich story to tell. Its future looks uncertain as the Grosvenor project is drawing business to the other side of the city, suggesting its has passed its peak; deep in contrast with its past when Bold Street was regarded as the ‘Bond Street of the North’ notorious for its wealthy clientele.

Bold Street on Flickr

We are using Flickr to collect, share, and discuss images of and about Bold Street that have been sourced for "The Bold Street Project" exhibition. We also want to encourage people to submit their images of Bold Street via Flickr which will then be shown in our mixed media exhibiton, in FACT, in June 2007.

Share

We have set up a Bold Street Flickr Group to enable people to contribute their images. Pictures may also be included (with the owner's permission) in our exhibition at FACT. If you have pictures of Bold Street and want to see them in an exhibition at FACT, then add them to this group.
