I started taking photos as a student when studying Mechanical Engineering at Plymouth University. An interest in railways and a student railcard allowed for much travel and consequently many railway photos (among other subjects), mostly shot on Agfa CT18 transparency film. I am slowly digitising and posting here any that have a semblance of historical or artistic merit.

Interest in photography waned somewhat, only to be rekindled by the advent of digital whereupon my photo record picked up again from 2007. So here are some of the people, places and interests that have caught my eye. I hope there's something here that catches your eye too.

In real life I am director of a charity working with young people in secondary schools in Colchester which also connects me with other related projects around the UK and sometimes further afield. Off duty I get to spend some time volunteering as a driver on the Welshpool and Llanfair railway.
