It's took me months to write this...and ive kept away from all the other amazing testimonials so as mine will be totally original....the guys a "legend" and probably the nicest guy ive had the pleasure to meet (my old fella & grandad just pip him to the post...god rest their soul)...his shots and his knowledge are a lesson that can't be taught you have to experience it first hand....his enthusiasm and knowledge are just infectious...if you haven't met richard...it's a gap you need to fill...ONE TOP GUY...(and with every top guy he has a wonderful woman behind him....lets not forget Mrs Youngbrit) : ))

I have this to say about Richard, he is an obsessive snapper. I often worry about some of his people shots, certainly not the content or quality, which is always good, but the fact that one of these people may not take kindly to having their photo taken. So I ask him to be careful, you never know, they could turn nasty, and that is something all of his many Flikr friends would definitely not want to see happen. Now for the reason I have written this :- Over the last few years I have seen Rich mature, not in age, but as a photographer. Whoever said you can’t teach an Old Dog new tricks, has not met Rich. His hobby, I am sure has kept him interested in life during his maturing years, and long may it last. His little excursions bring up some very interesting shots, and his local views of our city are always worth looking it. He quite often comes up with little gems of ordinary people going about life in general, people who probably don’t know they have been captured so well. As many people have already said he always takes the time to visit his many Flikr friends and I for one really appreciate that. All in all, a good solid Flikr friend that I really enjoy visiting. Well done Old Fella

A true Gent with strong views and values, a rareity these days. Rich always and I mean always takes time to view and comment on others photographs, and gives great comments. An absolute must to see his stream and a credit to photography and flickr.

If you have made your way to The Old Brit's profile, it is probably because you are inspired by an image in his photo stream, or have read the comments he has elevated to an art form...or maybe both! The Old Brit is what we Yankees call a "straight shooter." His clear eyed photography does not hide behind the over processing I see so often; it is, instead, the result of a person who understands all the possibilities of the light and the pathos of a scene. Look closely at his candid shots. There are no false emotions, the situation is never forced and, although there is tenderness and humo(u)r, his subjects' dignity is always respected. There is much to learn from The Old Brit and it isn't just photography. And finally...Thank you, friend.

I have to say Richard is my most reliable contact (I've actually checked!), he always takes the time to leave the most thoughtful comments on my images, and his vibrancy and enthusiasm are most encouraging when out at 5am in the freezing cold! Richard has a wide ranging collection of shots which show off his local area in the best light, ranging from shots looking over Waterloo Beach near his home to street candids in the centre of Liverpool. He has also inspired me to get up to his neck of the woods one day soon to shoot the iron man statues on Waterloo Beach!

I've made a lot of friend since joining this Flickr group. I hope all those guys and gals won't mind too much if I pay a special tribute to a man who's "handle" may refer to an "old British GEEZER", but who has always got a 'young' outlook, and continues to give us new approaches with his superb photographic eye. Coupled with a wry sense of humour, his natural abilities with a camera set him apart from us "beginners".I've learned so much in a relatively short time from looking at TOB's photos, his perspectiive and the thought he puts into each shot are to be applauded. Thank you Richard for your encouragement and for giving me the inspiration to try and attain those consistent high standards you set.. If we could favourite Flickr members as well as their photographs, I would favourite Richard! He is an experienced photographer as well as a person who thinks and cares deeply about things. This comes through in his wonderful pictures. I especially enjoy his nature pictures, which reflect his love of nature. Since I joined Flickr, I have found The Old Brit to be encouraging, kind and positive in the observations he makes on other peoples work, including my own.
