I have loved photography since I was a Wee One, although I didn't have the means to pursue it until much later in life, so my first photos taken for the sake of it were snapped with Brownies, 110 instamatics with flashcubes, and the dreaded Disc Camera.

My late stepfather had a SLR, a Kashica I believe, but he was always using it for work. I was afraid to touch it. I didn't get my own until 2003.

Nowadays, I usually wander around municipalities and rural settings, shooting buildings and other landscapes in and around Gifu (a prefecture in Japan), and other locations as my computer geek job takes me. I go on a lot of road trips (ROOOOAD TRIIIIIIIIIP) with The Wife, Inc. who acts as my spotter and occasional auxiliary backup photographer.

I've lived in Japan since 1992, but I'm not an English teacher or a black belt in mumblety-jutsu or some creep who likes maid uniforms or anything like that. I'm over myself, really. I won't plaster my pictures with watermarks and logos and the like, either. They're distracting.

I own several cameras but consider Nikon my brand of choice. Not for any particular fanboy-style CANON SUX!!11!!!111 reason (because Canons most definitely do not suck -- ask any professional sports shooter)... just because i always dug the ergonomics of Nikon cameras, and because of the massively wide selection of lenses that can fit the omnipresent F-mount.
