He really knows which buttons on his camera need pressing as well as when to press them. And that is at least half the battle. The other half is knowing where to stand. I think Nathan is one absolute bundle of talent that's just beginning to explode. I used to think his stuff was merely interesting and pretty good, better than a lot of stuff out there . . . and then I realized he was only 16 - and his stuff was better than a lot out there. And then I realized he'd only ever shot with a point and shoot . . . what? He's doing better than most of what's out there - young, with no help, and only a point and shoot. It was then that I stood up and took notice. Since then, we've done an exchange project or two and we've had the opportunity to shoot together on 3 occasions. I have to say, after meeting him in person I was even more impressed - he asks so many great questions, listens and retains the answers forever, keeps an open and creative mind - I just keep getting impressed. Of the teenage photographers out there on flickr, I can absolutely say he's my favorite.
